What's A Distro?

To Distro is to share a song, link or widget using FanDistro, but it's MORE than just sharing - you earn points or money when you Distro. Sharing is a form of advertising and when you share music, links, videos, etc. you are providing a service to the artist. At FanDistro, we and Artists believe that people who provide a service should reap some benefit. So, when you share a song or link using FanDistro, or Distro, we track any sales that come through your song, link or widget and you or a charity of your choosing get 20% of sales. FanDistro has a tight integration with Facebook, twitter and other social media sites making it really simple to Distro. Sign-up Now How it Works

About FanDistro Menu

Team Page

FanDistro offers artists the ability to gain exposure and develop their markets by leveraging their greatest asset - their fans - to act as their marketing and sales agents. Fans have always been key promoters of artists, but FanDistro believes that fans will do a better job if they are rewarded for their efforts. With FanDistro fans earn 20% of any sales they generate. For example, if a fan posts (we call it Distro) a video widget on Facebook and one of their friends watches it and decides to purchase the track the fan will earn 20% of the sale. FanDistro provides the widgets, banners and links for fans to work with for promotion and tracks all of the sales. FanDistro also has agreements with selected independent labels to introduce artists that have demonstrated an ability to generate fan interest and sales for possible signing.

Artist FAQ

I'm registered, but I can't seem to login.

If you login in the future and don't see your info, make sure you don't have two sets of login info (usernames and passwords - from Facebook, for example).  If you signed up with one set, and you're now trying to sign in with Facebook connect, you won't be able to login unless the username and password are identical.  Make sure you're logging in with the same username and password that you signed up with.  Something else to try is deleting FanDistro from your Facebook apps (located under account settings) and then allowing access when you attempt to log in again. If that still doesn't help, send an email to support@FanDistro.com.

How do I open an account for the first time?

Click the LOGIN button Then decide if you want to use your Facebook login info, or create a new username and password. Either one works great. Enter your info, and click LOGIN. Then, click the MANAGE button. Click MY PROJECTS then click SETUP and Enter your artist info under the PROVIDE THE BASICS tab. Then upload your music under the UPLOAD YOUR MUSIC tab. Finally click the FINISH UP tab to upload your images.

Why does FanDistro need access to my Facebook information?

FanDistro needs access to the following from Facebook:

  • - Email Address is needed to log you into our site and communicate with you. We never give this away.
  • - Publish Stream is needed so fans can post to their wall or their friends walls.
  • - User Likes is needed so fans can post to their favorite pages.
  • - User Location allows us to map out where fans are located.

Do you have any tips for doing cool things in the Manage section?

Yes.
You can adjust your pricing anytime you want.
You can create coupons for discounts on your music.  For example, you can give fans at your concerts a code for a discount for their next purchase, which will drive them to buy more music.  Or send out discounts by email that fans can forward to new fans.
You can add your Facebook page number to make it easy for people to become page Fans.
You can add a YouTube address for one of your videos so fans can click through it to watch.
It's important that you upload both the CD Cover photo and the Fun Photo - so your page looks complete.  While you can use the same photo for both if you want to be boring, we'd suggest using a different promo photo or shot from a concert.

Can I take my information offline without deleting it?

Sure. If you have to do maintenance or need to take you stuff down, there's a button you can use to take your page down or put it up whenever you want - it's the MAKE LIVE button. In case you need to take your page down to make some changes, this helps avoid any problems with your fans.

How do I modify my info or add new stuff?

Login to the site, and then click MY PROJECTS. You can do everything from there.

How do I upload music?

Once you're logged in. Click on the My Projects button on the home page. Then click Setup button then click the UPLOAD YOUR MUSIC tab and follow the instructions.
